We set it at the centre of a diamond bloom — eight oval diamonds standing as petals, each one D-F colour and VVS to VS clarity, surrounding the sapphire the way outer petals frame a flower's centre. Eighty-two round diamonds of the same fine colour and clarity are micro-set into the gallery and band beneath, so the light continues in miniature all the way down the finger. Eighteen-karat gold throughout, finished to disappear beneath the stones.
Untreated sapphire of this size and saturation is the rarer find; heat treatment is standard practice in the trade precisely because natural colour this clean is uncommon. This one needed none.
